FORMAT

Three Hamburg champions will be crowned in international mode: Levels 1, 2, and 3.

The categories are based on the level of difficulty at which you boulder:

WOMEN*
LEVEL 1: green
LEVEL 2: green to blue inclusive
LEVEL 3: blue and above

MEN*
LEVEL 1: green to blue inclusive
LEVEL 2: blue and above
LEVEL 3: red and above

There will be separate qualifying rounds for each category. This year, you will have an hour longer in the qualifying round, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., for a maximum of 5 attempts on 6 boulders.

Juries enter the zone, flash, and top with the number of attempts required for this into the scoring.

The 6 best in each category (m**/w**) advance to the finals.

Important! During the qualifying round, the jury reserves the right to assign individual participants to the qualifying round of the higher level on the following day if their level has been incorrectly assessed.

The finals will take place on Saturday, April 18 , starting at 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m., and will be held in international mode for all levels ! That means 3 boulders at 4 minutes each.

All information about tickets, advance registration, and event T-shirts will follow in the coming weeks.

assessment phase

Not sure yet which level (1, 2, or 3) you should start at in the HMB 2026?

Or have you never been to FLASHH and don't know our difficulty levels yet?

No stress—that's what the assessment phase is for!

From March 17 to April 9, you have the chance to find out which category suits you best, so that you can later compete with athletes on equal terms for a place on the podium.

Starting on March 17 at 6 p.m., you can pick up a free scorecard at our counter. It works the same way as it will later in the qualification round. Even if you just want to get a feel for how a competition like this works, feel free to join in.

On the checklist, you will find 8 boulders, and you have up to 5 attempts for each one. You enter whether you have completed the boulder.

  • you succeeded on your first attempt (Flash, marked with T ),

  • only reached the zone (Z),

  • or you could beat it on your second to fifth attempt.

The boulders themselves do not indicate their level. However, you can use your results on your checklist to determine which category is probably right for you.

You will also find brief tips on competition rules and bouldering techniques at each boulder—so you can hone your skills at the same time.

So: put on your shoes, get to the wall, and take on the challenge.

Have fun bouldering!
